Kildysart National School
A
fundraising Auction will be held in the Community Centre on Sunday 16th November 3pm to 6pm.  The National School are currently undertaking a numbers projection for the forthcoming years, therefore if you intend enrolling your child/children for the following years please take a form from table at Church Door, complete and return to the school.  2009,2010,2011,2012.

A clothes collection will take place from the National School on Monday 24th November.  Please donate unwanted ladies & gents clothing, footwear, bedding, towels, curtains, blankets, duvet covers etc.  Also collecting old and unwanted mobile phones and Lenrec Recycling will ensure that these are recycled in an eco friendly way.  Please drop to the school on Friday 21st during school hours or Monday morning before 10am.

We offer our sincere sympathy to the Garry Family, Forthill on the recent death of Gerald Garry at Cahercalla Community Hospital.  May he be at rest with the Saints.

Your prayers are requested for the repose of the soul of Martin Dillion, late of Cooga,

Kildysart who died unexpectedly in Zambia earlier this week.   Martin was working for the Aid Agency Concern and had worked as an Aid worker in many Third World Countries. Please remember his wife Rebecca and two children Michelle and Christopher  in your prayers. (Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Askeaton, and burial afterwards in the family plot in Kildysart, at times to be announced)

Open Days at Athlone Institute of Technology

On Friday14th Nov 9.30am to 2pm and Saturday 15th Nov from 9.30 to 1pm. The days

Bee keeping Course

Have ever thought about keeping your own honey bees and harvesting your very own wild flower honey?  EIRÍ Corca Baiscinn are organizing an 9 week Bee Keeping Course starting on Monday 3rd November at the Brothers of Charity, Kilrush from 7.30-9.30pm. The course will also include a visit to the lecturer, Fintan Ryan’s apiary in

Kildysart Parish Development Fund

We would like to thank all who have so far contributed to the building fund to cover the cost of the recent additions and improvements to our Parish Church.  So far €17,705 has been collected.  Contributions may be made in a one off payment at the discretion of the contributor or in instalments over a period of time.  Once again may we sincerely thank everybody who has contributed so generously thus far. Biodiversity at Fanore
There are a series of night classes occurring in the National School at Fanore to follow on from the Community Day out at Fanore held on Saturday 27
th September. These classes will be free of charge and anyone from the area of North Clare are invited to attend.  Classes will commence from Thursday 9th to the 16th and finish on 23rd October 2008. The classes will cover a wide range of Biodiversity found in the area of Fanore. 

A Building of Hope
RTE’s Derek Davis is coming to the Temple Gate Hotel on Saturday October 18
th at 8.30pm to launch a Building of Hope for Fr. Martin Keane in Kenya.  We are looking for volunteers to travel to Kenya to build a Resource Centre in January 2010.  So if you would like to become part of this project, please contact Olive on 087 6994599

A Public meeting will take place on
Tuesday 30th September in Community Centre, Kildysart @ 8pm .  This is a follow up meeting which was agreed last July in connection with recent robberies. with a view to forming a Neighbourhood Watch Committee in the area.  The main speaker will be Sgt. Joe Downey from Crime Prevention Unit for the County and Sgt. Brendan Bourke will attend.  The meeting will be open to Kildysart, Cranny, Coolmeen & Ballynacally, & Labasheeda  Parishes. Please make a special effort to attend this very important meeting.

Ennis Hospital Development Committee will host a public meeting at Kilrush Golf Club next Monday evening at 8.30 pm. The agenda will include recent developments, the forthcoming HIQA review of services and future actions to be taken. Anyone interested in the future of the health services in Clare is invited to attend.

Thank you for your contributions to Priests Benevolent Fund Collection last weekend.   The Fund is used to provide care for ill and retired priests.  At present the Benevolent Fund cares for 10 Killaloe Priests in Retirement, 4 of these priests are in fulltime nursing care. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Family Day on this Sunday
The field events which were cancelled due to poor weather conditions have been rescheduled for this Sunday (Sept 21st) at Lissycasey G.A.A. pitch. There will be short matches for U/10s commencing at 12.30 followed by U/12s at 1 p.m. and a combination of U/14s and U/16s at 1.30 p.m.  A number of fun/novelty events will follow the games and these will include, Go-Kart Skills Obstacle Course, Bouncing Castles for various ages, Face Painting, Wellie Throwing, Hanging out the Clothes etc.  These events are free of charge and are open to both girls and boys. There will be a B-B-Q at the rear of Fanny O' Dea’s from 2 to 6 p.m.
